I’ve gotten the first draft of the first 45 pages of The Martian Confederacy book 2 from Jason… and they are hilarious… and action packed. One of the early scenes he described in the script inspired this sketch that I did last night. Sexy girl storms off as LOU greets her departure, while Boone yells his defense from the doorway. Lots of great quixotic mayhem in this second book.

Jason and I ran into an animator pal of mine, Jett, during our Wondercon signing at the Schulz Museum booth. She sent us this cool fan art after reading The Martian Confederacy. Thanks, Jett!

Thanks to Andrew Wheeler for yesterday’s review on ComicMix of The Martian Confederacy: Vol. 1
And here are a few words from Jason Mc. about TMC2:
“I’ve just finished the first draft of Martian Confederacy V.2: From Mars from Love. As noted in the review, the premise of our sequel is going to be different. We expand on the structure of life in 3535, in an adventure that takes our rebellious trio off world and into places they’ve never been before. Hearts will be broken, moons will be destroyed and and hooch will flow in zero gravity. Thanks again for a well thought out review.”

Who wants to be on someone’s best of 2008 list? (I do.) We beat out Grant Morrison’s All Star Super-Man. We’d never heard of this blog before but it’s a new favorite. Thanks, Bram!
